About NZRT
The New Zealand Retirement Trust (NZRT) is a flexible workplace-based retirement plan designed to meet your retirement needs.
The NZRT was developed in 1995 following extensive research undertaken on behalf of AMP by Colmar Brunton on employer-sponsored superannuation. Since it was introduced the NZRT has become the largest multi-employer superannuation master trust in New Zealand.
Currently NZRT has over 34,000 members and in excess of $1 billion in assets managed for over 660 employers.
A Superannuation Scheme set up under the NZRT operates on a defined contribution basis and all benefits are provided as cash lump sums.
NZRT was
- First to provide a choice of external investment managers;
- First to provide members with online access to account balances;
- First to provide the Lifesteps Investment Programme that automatically adjusts the investment mix with a member's age;
- First to offer a true online application (for State Sector employees).
