To compete at the World 24 hour Solo Mountain Champs in 2010

“If your mind is willing, then your body will be willing.”

Competing in a world event that takes place over 24 hours is a true test of stamina.  In 2010 Charlotte will take up the challenge and ride for 24 hours straight on a mountain bike over a set course of hills and rugged terrain to compete at the World Championships.  During this event she will ride day and night with very little rest and her only support a crew of two who will keep her hydrated and fed.

Setting tough goals is part of Charlotte’s personal ethos and she thrives on strategising to achieve something that others may not believe possible.  To prepare for this challenge, Charlotte will undergo many hours of solo training and push her mental and physical endurance to the limit.

Charlotte has competed in the Speights Coast to Coast three times and last year completed her twentieth Marathon in Rotorua.  She has always competed in endurance events and as she has got older the events have got longer.  After completing her first 12 hour event, Charlotte knew she had it in her to try for the 24 hour solo world mountain bike champs next year.
