Assumptions and conditions

The above calculations, including the maximum loan amount and monthly repayment, are an estimate only and use debt servicing and other criteria commonly used by many New Zealand home loan lenders. Individual lenders may use different criteria.

In performing the above calculations, it is assumed that the interest rate, personal and other income does not change during the term of the loan. The calculations do not make allowance for personal debts or other commitments, or fees charged by an individual lender, as individual lenders may use different criteria. Actual interest rates may differ from the rates you select in this calculator. The amount of the deposit and credit history is subject to individual lending criteria and is not factored into the result of this calculation.

As most lenders apply a sensitivity margin of 1.5% to 2% to the interest rate when assessing repayment capacity, we recommend that you use an interest rate 2% higher than currently available to allow for this when using the calculator.
