This year, 7 Adviser Businesses in the AMP Financial Adviser Network will each offer a $5,000 scholarship to help someone in their region pursue their dream - whatever that is.

As a special needs teacher and avid film maker, Sarah dreams to teach future employees through her short videos that young adults with special needs have so much to offer in the workplace.

It’s one of the few sports in the world where males and females are equal. It’s the only Olympic sport which involves another living being. Three Day Eventing is unique and Samantha dreams of making New Zealand proud at the 2020 Olympic and World Equestrian Games.

After witnessing suicide in her rural community, Claudena was motivated to change the statistics. Youth suicide rates have skyrocketed over the years to the extent that she had to be the change she wanted to see.

Willis Feasey

Driven by a competitive nature and a tenacious desire to be the very best alpine ski racer in New Zealand, Willis aims to continuously improve his world ranking and compete at the 2018 PyeongChang Olympic Games.


Trent Anderson

A discovery that fuelled a passion, Trent identified the need for an affordable personal location system designed to suit NZ conditions and the outdoors but adaptable for use in schools and as assistance for those with alzheimers.

Mathew Dickey

AMP Scholarship Recipient

Taking a leap towards success, Matthew dreams of becoming the best horseman and show jumping rider in the country and inspire those around him to do the same.


All applicants for AMP National Scholarships are automatically eligible for a Regional Scholarship - you only need to be a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident but there are no age limits. All applicants need to do is prove they're passionate and determined to follow their dream. So whether your dream is a community project, business idea, education, or a dream to represent your country, you could be in line to get some extra help.

Judging process

Judging is run locally by each participating Adviser Business. If you’re a finalist, you'll be invited to chat with your Regional Business Judging Panel. Each Regional Scholarship recipient will be announced at the Regional Scholarship Award Events held on between 27 and 28 September 2017.
