Managed Funds are an investment option to help you save.
In a managed fund your money is pooled with other investors’ money and generally spread across different kinds of investments. A fund manager chooses the investments, and each investor owns a portion of the total fund.
Unlike a term deposit, a managed fund doesn’t provide a fixed rate of return over a period. This means your return can vary from year to year, and there’s also the risk you could receive less back than what you originally invested.
There’s an estimated annual fund charge (fee) of 0.79% or 0.80% per annum, depending on the fund selected, and that’s it.
The fee is expressed as a percentage of the net asset value and has two parts:
* a fixed management fee (0.74%), and
* costs and expenses (estimated at 0.05% or 0.06%, depending on the fund selected).
Sam invests $10,000 in the AMP Growth Managed Fund at the start of the year and remains an investor at the end of the year. If her balance stays the same, estimated annual fund charges for the year will be about $80 (0.80% of $10,000) for the year. These fees might be more or less if her account balance increased or decreased over the year.
You can find out more about fees in the AMP Managed Funds Product Disclosure Statement and the Fees and Other Charges document.
We have three options to suit investors who have different investment timeframes, investment goals and attitudes to risk: Conservative, Balanced, or Growth.
